Our homes should be a haven for us, our children and even our pets – but are they?
Nowadays, there are so many products , whether they be for household or personal use, we and therefore our bodies, are being completely overwhelmed by them.
Scientists have been sounding the alarm on this for some time. The Guardian ran an article back in 2016 on this and other pollution issues which made pretty concerning reading.
An article from February 2018 in Science News stated that studies had shown:
“In urban areas, emissions from consumer goods such as paint, cleaning supplies and personal care products now contribute as much to ozone and fine particulate matter in the atmosphere as do emissions from burning gasoline or diesel fuel.”
In addition, as of July 2019, The Environmental Audit Committee is calling for a public awareness campaign in regard to the “hidden” toxins in our homes, particularly in the form of flame retardants found in furniture, soft furnishings and so on.
The good news is, we can do something about this.
These matters may already be troubling to you.
